About Improbable Cause

Our story

History of Improbable Cause

Improbable Cause™ was an editorial cartoon by Steven Rinehart (illustrated by Jesse Wayman) which ran weekly in the Coeur d’Alene Press from 2021 – 2023. The Coeur d’Alene Press is largest daily newspaper in Idaho (and big in eastern Washington). Select panels from Improbable Cause were also published by other newspapers including KSL and the Virginia Lawyer. This simple website site holds the archives of many of the published panels, including a section of rejected panels, each with backstory.
